It is the last car that represents true "innovation". Everything after is nothing more than continual refinement of the aerodynamics the 2k broke ground on. We have seen little or no true innovation from 1979. Transmissions and engines have been developed, but offer no real creativity as to how produce a more efficent design, packaging or offer a significant cost reduction in production. We wonder why the sport is in peril? It is becuae it is in denial. Denial for all the things that were created before "spec" racing.

How could you not? 1000HP Offy, Large Wings, 19mph jump in speed and a great driver in the name of Bobby Unser. Who the hell could not love that package? long live Dan, Bobby and innovation!!!
