Hey All: On Aug !, 2017 I officially hung up my rock hammer. I am now retired from my day job. After being involved with geology for over 40 years it is time to relax and enjoy life doing other things. I am still retaining my position as CEO of The PHOENIX INN. I hope to be enjoying life traveling and doing wood working.

The substrata breathes a sigh of relief! Seriously, congratulations! Job well done and enjoy your retirement. The PI looks forward to your continued excellent leadership for many years to come! The Board pooled together some funds from petty cash and decided to give you this retirement gift: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjAfVSd4g8QA little play toy to keep you interested in geology. Probably good for clearing traffic off the interstate, too!

That beast would be great in a Bond movie.

IIRC that beast is used to mine Lignite coal (aka brown coal).

I think you're right. I saw a documentary on that particular beast once.
